Husband/wife having bedroom trouble seek swingers/open relationships to fix marriage

Solved4.45K views#1 Movies

I just saw the trailer for “Newness” and it made this movie I saw maybe a year ago pop into my head. It’s odd and quite sexual but I can’t figure out what it was and it is bothering me. Movie came out in the past 10 years and was a drama/indie/film festival seeming film. Not a comedy. It wasn’t “Eyes wide shut”, “shortbus”, “couple’s retreat”.

I remember that the couple is having marital issues surrounding sex. Specifically, the husband can’t seem to get or hold an erection so they haven’t had sex in a while. I think they see a therapist who suggests having them try new things. Somehow they end up meeting another couple for a combined romp. The original couple seems hesitant and at one point the new couple expresses frustration about how couples keep answering their ad and not following through. They go to the bedroom but the original couple gets spooked and runs out. Once they’re around the corner, they stop and do the deed against a brick wall since the husband can now get it up. I think they end up doing similar things but it causes more issues in their relationship because the husband doesn’t actually want this. The husband suggests having a threesome with the wife and another man. And after a threesome or something, the husband storms out and is upset and it ends up ruining their relationship more.

I think it ends with the wife attending a sex party of sorts where everyone’s just naked and it’s supposed to look artsy as she’s just walking the halls. Then the husband comes to find her and has to strip to enter the party because a man in leather stops him from entering. but he does it and reunites with his wife and they embrace.

Sorry for the ramble. That’s all I really remember. I think it was a fairly recent movie (within the past couple years)…

Maybe “Fling“?

It’s been a while since I have seen it but your post made me think of it right away.

“An attractive young couple’s open relationship is stretched to the breaking point when each partner finds themselves falling in love with other people.”
