Old usa movie about a guy save a girl then his friend take all the credits

I must have seen it around 2010 or earlier, the movie start with a big plane accident and a lots of pp stuck inside, a guy just walking by decide to help get all of them out to safety, but all of the passengers was unconscious including a rich girl, after get everyone out he drop a shoe which later the rich girl use to find her savior, after that the good guy went home and he told his (maybe) best friend about the accident and somehow give him the other shoe, later his (maybe) best friend heard about the rich girl’s big reward for her savior and decided to lie and take all the credit … that’s as far as i can remember
