Weird Movie about a Fake God

My boyfriend and I are trying to find this movie he remembers vividly from one scene where a guy who claims he’s God tries to convince some people in a room that he is God and is trying to save their children. My boyfriend only remembers the part where he is flying in the sky with the kids though. Any hints are appreciated:)
