WW2 US bomber squadron in England

Solved4.12K views#1 Movies

It starts with an abandoned airfield and a signature on a wall near a dartboard.

Then it goes back to when the airfield was in use during the war.

There is a US bomber squadron. A love affair between a US pilot and an English rose.

We even see the person sign the wall near the dartboard.

An old black and white classic film.

Please help find the name.

Thanks

Any chance it is
“Twelve O’Clock High” (1949)?

Detailed plot on Wikipedia:

It is a classic black and white WWII movie about a US bomber unit operating from the UK. The story is told in flashback.
Quote from Wikipedia:

“In 1949, former U.S. Army Air Forces officer Harvey Stovall (Dean Jagger) spots a familiar Toby Jug in the window of a London antique shop and learns that it came from Archbury, where Stovall served with the 918th Bomb Group during World War II. Convinced that it is the same jug, he buys it and journeys to the derelict airfield.”
