Person tells everyone his dad runs a plantain plantation and it turns out he wasn’t lying

Some film (might be a tv show) where the whole plot this guy tells everyone his long lost dad runs a plantain farm (maybe pineapple) on an island somewhere and the joke is that no one believes him because its obviously ridiculous, but at the end he actually goes there and reunites with his dad but there is bad blood (may involve a physical fight but I dont remember.)
