It’s a western-type move, but the protagonist stumbles upon a group of neanderthals or some prehistoric hominids who are hunting with a jaw-bone made into a weapon. They take him and another back to a cave, and they eat one of the captives, but the partner shows up and they shoot the neanderthals.
