Movie Russian Soldiers fight monsters

Can anyone help name this movie – Set in WW2 Russia, a squad of soldiers are sent east on a mission to find out someting?? They are stalked by creatures. All I remember is the final scene where they all get wiped out. They blow up the creatures, only to reveal a load more of the creatures coming out of the ground. I remember thinking it was a bit Lovecraftian? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
