Hi, Not sure if I remember the premise of the movie correctly, also not sure what decade it was released (I think it was 90s, very late 80s or maybe earlish 2000s).
I seem to recall towards the end of the movie it was either high schoolers that were still attending school, or just friends sitting around/hanging out/conversing/drinking with someone that had already finshed/graduated either highschool or college (I think it was his house) that was still partying and doing the same stuff as he was doing when going to school. I think the movie was about the older character not growing up/moving on from how he used to behave when he was younger. Not sure if it was just the one character that had finished school, or if they all had.
I found a movie called ‘Kicking & Screaming’ from around 1995 that seemed close, but that isn’t it (I thought the movie I was looking for had Eric Stoltz in it, but looking at his filmography, couldn’t find anything else matching in that time period). In the movie I remember, they were sitting around in an outdoor area at one of the main characters back yard.
There’s a scene in Garden State where the protagonist returns to his hometown and parties with his friends but recognizes that he feels that he’s grown out of it.
Thanks. I will have a look at Gardenstate, but I don’t think that was it.
Edit : don’t think this is it, as I remember the character having finished high school at least, but had not grown out of partying/drinking/hanging out with younger friends.
