I’m pretty sure it is a Canadian made for TV film and it’s from the early 80s. The film is 1 hour long and the simple plot is there are four old friends (all male cast) from high school (one is a police officer), who play cards in a basement and enter into old conflicts with one another – with the cop and others questioning their life choices and discussing the possibility of committing crime in order to change their lives. One of the actors is a real chunky dude. Also, I read somewhere online many years ago (when I knew the title!) that this film because of it being controversial/subversive was never broadcast on US television.
