I’m searching for an animated short/cartoon about cars of the future

Hi, I’ve got another thing that I am trying to find. It is an animated short/cartoon that I saw as a child in the early 90’s, but it could have been made in the 50’s or 60’s.

The cartoon was set in the future and featured a male observer/scientist in a observatory high in the sky. From up there, the observer looks down at many different kinds of car that exist in his present.
One of these cars (and the only one that I remember) is a “Crocodile Car”. At least, that’s how I remember it being called. The “Crocodile Car” was named that because the front half of it opened up like a giant crocodile mouth. Out of this ‘mouth’ would leap another, fully formed “Crocodile Car” that would bite it’s own mouth closed and eat anything in front of it. It would then open it’s mouth again and the cycle would repeat. Most importantly, the “Crocodile Car” would never move. It just spawns new versions of itself and fills up the roads that way.
Initially the “Crocodile Car” was just one of many wacky, futurist automobiles. But towards the end of the short the “Crocodile Car’s” self replicating nature causes the car to start covering the entire globe. The cars pile up higher and higher, one on top of the other, spawning exponentially. They eventually reach the observatory and break in. One of the “Crocodile Cars” manages to eat the observer/scientist as he tries to run away and the cartoon ends shortly after.

I have tried to find this cartoon for a couple of years now, but haven’t managed to find it. I hope that someone here might be able to point me in the right direction.
