I think I saw this in the 1990s. I think it was a UK TV short film or one off TV episode about a guy on a date. He invited his hot date back to his apartment ‘for a coffee’. Back at his place he made her an instant coffee. This turned her right off him and she told him he needed to taste real coffee. He got a 2nd date with her and went back to her place where she made him some filter coffee. He later started to research coffee making and when she next came over to his place he made coffee using a cafetiere and explained on long detail why it was superior to a filter machine. This then kept escalating as he became more and more obsessed with coffee and became such a bore that she dumped him.
