This was on TV in the 1980’s, filmed in B&W, for “artiness” I think. It was possibly Polish. Disturbing film about a taxi driver who drives his fare into the middle of nowhere, wraps a rock in a cloth, and bludgeons the passenger to death, without a motive. It has been bugging me! Can’t find it on IMDb, thought I recall it was called “Taxi” or “Taxi Driver” but I only get Google hits for the obviously famous “Taxi Driver”… Thank you in advance for any ideas – it is quite obscure, I know.

Could it be episode “Dekalog, pięć”? Also released as a feature length film “Krótki film o zabijaniu”?
It is not in black and white, but the colour scheme is sort of unusual.
The only problem is that the passenger kills the driver and not vice versa.
