Boy itching ..?

This movie was probably made around 90s or early 2000s. I don’t remember much but it was about a boy or a young teenager who woke up one night because his back itches so badly. And he itches it but it doesn’t help. So he goes and finds some sort of tool and uses it to scratch his back until he peels off his skin and I think he bleeds from that. It scared me a lot when I was young but now I wish I could see what that movie was all about. I think it was some sort of action movie.
