An old movie featuring something similar to Stockholm syndrome

There was a movie I saw a long time ago. The movie is pretty old. It’s about a guy that falls in love with a ballerina/dancer. He later overhears a conversation where her friend says it would be romantic to get kidnapped by someone that likes you. Thinking it was her he kidnapped her and it turned out to be a little problematic. If I remember correctly she did fall in love with him at the end of the movie while still being in captivity.
