adult life allegorie odd movie

Can’t recall this movie title. I remember only two specific scenes:

1- a man located in some sort of desert/plain is downright hanged by journalists, at a tree. (I think that the scene represented the media condemning people)

2- a old man traveling by foot reaches a road sign, and it reads “high road” (pointing to the left) and “low road” (pointing to the right). The man conplians: “no more choices”…and falls down to the ground.
