Ok. So I have been trying to remember this movie title for years and have watched several I thought might be it to no avail. It’s about a mom who is (I think) recently divorced. She has kids. She meets a dude who seems great but is abusive. Two scenes I remember very vividly. 1) he takes the entire family to a snake handling church and 2) he drags the mom out of the car during a fight and holds her head under the exhaust pipe and leaves her on the ground. I remember my mom watching this while I was supposed to be asleep but was actually watching it too, so it would have been circa mid/late 90s to early 2000s. Probably more 90s. Please help!
