The lead actor looks like Phil Collins, and I remember a scene where he walks into a bar and starts telling his friends that he tried committing a suicide several times but he simply cannot die, he also knows everybody’s name in the bar even though he never seen them before. He thinks he is a god. And if I have not put two story’s together he is also looking for some kind of a sword and I also remember him wearing a wool or linen rain coat.

That sounds very much like the movie Highlander (1986) with Christopher Lambert,
and there was a TV Series Highlander: The Series (1992) with Adrian Paul.
Not sure of the part about knowing everyone.
