I watched a film about a single woman I think struggling with depression sometime around 2010-2016 probably on Netflix or Amazon Prime Video in the USA. I don’t remember too many details about it, but it was probably filmed in the 2000s or early 2010s. It was a very low budget, indie drama film, maybe filmed in Portland, Oregon.
I don’t remember much story line at all and I don’t think there was much of one, honestly. It was a very slow paced real life drama, definitely not comedy, horror, or sci-fi. There were no famous actors/actresses and had a low production value. What I remember most is this woman with long straight dark hair and blue or green eyes staring right into the camera a lot. It was very slow and I don’t remember anyone else or plot points. Maybe she struggled with her mental health or depression/anxiety? I remember one scene where she baked chocolate chip cookies. And I think there was maybe a shot where she is holding the cookie pan and looking right into the camera with an indifferent expression on her face. I didn’t care for this film and I remember even reading online about the director’s strange choice to have so many shots where the main actress is just staring blankly into the camera.
For whatever it’s worth, I think it probably had a compelling or interesting title or something that would make me choose to start watching a movie I knew nothing at all about. I’m thinking I chose to watch it, because maybe it was filmed in Portland and had a title that I liked.
I have checked my viewing history with no luck on both my Netflix and Amazon Prime Video accounts all the way back to mid 2014 when I first signed up for both. Before that, I shared accounts.
Thank you for reading and taking your time with this vague description!
I had looked at a list of movies filmed in Portland with no luck, but this time I found it on the list you posted! The film is Rid of Me.
Could you recognize the title in this list?
