Movie where in the last scene the main character sits on a park bench and decides to freeze to death

I have seen the movie in the early 1990´s – so it could be from the 80´s.

If I remember it correctly, it is set in a big city in Canada and deals with the ups and downs in the feelings of a woman looking for love.
Guess it is either Quebec, Toronto – but maybe it was somewhere else?

Unfortunately, the only thing I really remember is the last scene: It is freezing cold and the woman goes to a park, sits on a bench and dies.

Have seen the film only once, but the last scene left a deep impression, but i was never able to find the name or more details. Please help.
