Movie/Show where the guy is in a spaceship and finds a navigation room that looks like outer space?

Whch movie/show features the scene where the protagonist is trapped in an alien space ship and finds his way to the navigation room that appears to be space-like and has a rotating ball that controls the map? I thought it was Fire in the Sky but I guess I remembered incorrectly.
