Does anyone remember a documentary, about two teen girls burned alive in a parked car in NYC, and a filmaker just happened to live close by, filmed the fire, and then went to their home town and did a documentary about their lives, the small town corruption, and he was shot and killed in the process?? i cannot remember the title? thanks
Jewish filmmakers: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Jewish_film_directors, but none that are dead seem to have made documentaries.
Also this could help (an IMDb search): https://www.imdb.com/search/keyword/?keywords=deathnew-york-citymurder&mode=detail&page=1&ref_=kw_ref_key&sort=moviemeter,asc&genres=Documentary. If you remember around what year it was made approximately, for example, 2010-ish, you could check for 2009 to 2012 or 2013, to have fewer results to look through.
the filmaker was a white Jewish man, married to a black woman… he was a great filmaker, and getting involved in this story got him killed. any ideas on title?
