I’m trying to find a movie I saw a few years ago about a gay man that got beat up. I think the the man was married to his partner. They had recently moved into a neighborhood and went the man went out for a run he was attacked and beat up.
I thought Stephen Amell was in the movie, but when I look up his movies that one is not there.

Harvey Fierstein’s character falls in love and moves in with his male partner who, very soon after the move, goes for a jog and is killed by a homophobic mob.
One movie that comes to mind is Brokeback Mountain (2005) https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0388795/, with Heath Ledger & Jake Gyllenhaal. Jake in the movie gets beat up because people think he’s gay, but I don’t remember if he was out for a run. But it could be another movie also.
I’m pretty sure that the gay man was married to another man or at least in a serious relationship with one.
