I’ve been trying to find any info on this movie from google and imdb with no luck and it’s driving me crazy.
The only details about the movie that I can remember is that it’s mostly likely a period piece, set anywhere from the mid 1850s-1920s (I could even be wrong about this…) and I’m pretty sure it’s set in England. The main protagonist is this woman who goes to work in this mansion (I think as a housekeeper but it could be under another title). There seems to be some kind of mystery surrounding this mansion, either murder or ghosts (I’m pretty positive it’s not a horror film, because I don’t watch horror), and the man who owns the mansion is wrapped up in the mystery somehow. I think the other servants of the house have some sort of aversion to the woman for some reason? The man ends up falling in love with her and they end up together at the end of the movie (I’m pretty sure I remember this scene of them swimming together in this lake or pond or something). I can’t remember what the mystery was about or the resolution besides them ending up together.

They have all been filmed many times for film and TV and there are undoubtedly more example than the three I’ve listed here.
I have read Jane Eyre and seen all the adaptions to know that it’s not that one, unfortunately. Although I have not read or seen any of the adaptions for Rebecca or The Woman in White, I did come across them in my searches and they unfortunately are not the movie I saw either. This move definitely has to be lesser known and more obscure, because it’s impossible to find!
