I vaguely remember this film but it’s an old film perhaps 1950s I think in colour but cannot remember
Young girl playing outside on swing and collapses when running to go inside, I think she ends up in an iron lung or something like that.
I feel like her name was Susie or sally?

Louie, the name of the film you’re trying to remember is “The Five Pennies” (1959) starring Danny Kaye and Louis Armstrong.
The little girl, named Dorothy, is on a swing at night in the pouring rain next to a Christmas tree. She contracts polio and ends up in an iron lung. A real tear-jerker if there ever was one. Based on the life of jazz-man Red Nichols.
