Big Pharma Indie Film

Hi,

I’m looking for an indie movie that was made in the 80s or 90s. I’m pretty sure it was made by and starred a real world musician. The only part I remember is that big pharma was making this super pill that solved all your problems and/or made you completely happy. I think it was futuristic. There was a scene with a giant pill. My interpretation of the movie was that they were criticizing big pharma and that you would never want a pill like that anyways. Not much detail, but I’m really hoping to find the weird, obscure movie that I enjoyed. I watched it around 2005.
